2010 Lincoln MKZ

MKZ benefits from Sync's MP3 player and Bluetooth phone integration, and Sirius TravelLink's traffic, fuel price, and weather data. The THX audio system produces very good sound.The vehicle’s new winged-grille design is resurrected from early Lincoln history, and now ties the family together visually. New LED taillights emphasize the vehicle’s width and again the distinctive Lincoln character.

Improved operational refinement
In an effort to improve operational refinement, engineers attacked all sound-deadening elements within the MKZ’s structure with the goal of ensuring that the 2010 version spoiled its occupants with an even quieter automotive experience.Lincoln cabin electronics still rule the roost.   

 

There’s no argument that MKZ is now a notably quiet, refined operator but the attendant engineers weren’t just after silence; they also focused on creating a full-throttle auditory experience that communicates power and polish. 

2010 Lincoln MKS

MKS has no equivalent in the Ford lineup, This new model marks the beginning of the company's push to give Lincoln more stand-alone character; expect such styling cues as the "double-wing" grille and heavier C-pillars to eventually make their way throughout all models.  

Also new is a 3.7 L V6 engine, derived from the company's 3.5 L Duratec family, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode.  MKS will be the first to get Ford's new EcoBoost engine, which uses twin turbochargers and direct fuel injection for improved power with up to 20 per cent better fuel economy and 15 per cent less CO2 emission reduction.

As expected, the MKS is exceptionally roomy, both back and front. The trunk is enormous, but there's a very high lift-over to reach into it. The engineers have put a great deal of effort into making this car quiet, including acoustic laminated glass in the windshield and side windows, and engine and road noise is almost non-existent.

There is no faulting this Lincoln's powertrain. The MKS is heavy – the AWD version is a staggering 1,940 kg – but the V6 moves it along at an impressive clip. Acceleration is smooth and linear, and the transmission shifts almost imperceptibly, with no hunting for gears on hills.

Lincoln says the MKT includes technologies that will make customers’ lives easier – including available Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Warning with Brake Support, Active Park Assist, Blind Spot monitoring.Lincoln MKT is a six- or seven-passenger luxury crossover that offers Ford’s new, more powerful EcoBoost V6.

   

2010 Lincoln MKX

All the wood you find in the interior comes from a real, honest-to-gosh tree: you can tell by looking at it. Ebony wood is used with the black and grey leather interiors while my tester had maple to go along with the “sand” or cream coloured leather. The leather itself felt soft, like something you would make a nice coat out of.The seats, in addition to being heated, are cooled as well. On a hot day, your back and backside will still sweat, but I found I didn’t have to run the air conditioning as much with the seat coolers on.  

Above you is a huge sunroof, which covers 40% of the total roof area, or nine square feet. It is divided into a large panel in the front and a half-sized one at the rear. The seating position is fairly upright as in a van or SUV, and is quite comfortable. The instrument cluster is basic in layout, but decorative in design. The navigation and audio system has a touch-screen monitor to be used in tandem with the buttons that line the side of the screen.

Sound from the THX audio system is excellent for classical and acoustic music, but unfortunately falls short when trying to reproduce accurate bass or guitar distortion.Sitting in the rear is no worse than the front. The MKX has enough legroom to be called ample in any type of vehicle. The rear seats also recline to an angle better than any airplane I have been on, which makes it a very nice place for a nap.

The 2010 Lincoln Navigator combines the sophistication of a luxury sedan and the functionality of a full-size SUV. The Navigator is powered by a 310-hp 5.4-liter V8 engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission. Standard luxury features like a power liftgate and HID headlights are available on the Navigator. Heated and cooled front seats, satellite radio and classy wood trim add to the appeal of the cabin. The power folding 3rd row seats are surprisingly comfortable for passengers. In short, the 2010 Navigator offers quality seating and plenty of leg as well as head room. Standard safety features range from anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control with roll control, tire pressure monitoring, front and rear parking sensors with a rear camera to side-impact airbags for front-seat occupants and side curtain airbags for all three rows of seats.

 

The Navigator is available in a base trim and a long-wheelbase L trim, and comes in either two or four-wheel drive. The new features for 2010 are standard trailer sway control, power running boards, and Ford's MyKey system. The MyKey system allows parents to limit the vehicle's speed and the stereo's volume level to encourage safe driving in teens.
