2010 Lincoln MKZ Toronto
The Lincoln MKZ is a mid size, entry-level luxury sedan intended to compete with rivals such as the Lexus ES350. The car is characterized by a somewhat confusing history: designed as a replacement for the rear wheel drive Lincoln LS.
Finally Lincoln have decided to make a new and improved version of the MKZ which is more than likely to take the world by storm, for the new looks of this car luxury is an understatement, it has had an entire new facelift with all new interiors and just everything about it has changed.
They have given it all new bodywork to give it that sleek sexy higher class look, and what they have done with the interior is just out of this world, its all leather with nice white trims on the seats, the speedo is your average speedo but it lights up and has a nice digital display underneath where its telling you how much fuel you have left and what MPG you a doing.
Lincoln have still kept the same 3.5 litre, V6 engine that ford put in it but it kicks out a cool 263 horses which is enough for most of the drivers that want luxury rather than the power of the car. The Lincoln MKZ is also able to do 23.5 MPG
The new "facelifted" model has been revised with new front and rear fascias, highlighted by stretched tail lamps and smoother contours throughout. Inside, the MKZ has been redesigned to feature a more modern dashboard and gauges, Bridges of Weir leather seat trim and Ford's new corporate audio and HVAC controls. Standard equipment will include heated and cooled front seats and reverse sensing.
Some of that improved performance is owed to the new six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission, which delivers power to the front wheels in the entry-level configuration, and to all-wheels with the optional AWD package.
The new MKZ can be ordered with a Sport Appearance Package with special sport suspension tuning with stiffer springs and larger stabilizer bars, 18-inch Euroflange polished wheels, darkened grille and headlamps, and an interior with contrasting piping and unique appliqués.
The new MKZ also offers several new high-tech features, including Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross Traffic Alert (CTA), which promises make navigating traffic and parking lots safer.
BLIS tracks vehicles in the blind-spot zones on either side of the vehicle using two multiple-beam radar modules behind the rear fenders. Indicator lights in the outside rear-view mirror on both sides of the vehicle warn the driver when a vehicle enters the defined blind-spot zone, extending from the side mirror to 10 feet behind the vehicle and 10 feet away from the vehicle.
CTA uses the BLIS radar sensors to alert the driver of approaching traffic while in reverse and backing out of a parking spot. The CTA tracks up to 65 feet on either side of the vehicle and warns the driver through both audible and visual alerts.
